Covestro and Selena Introduce Bio-Attributed PU Foams for Sustainable Thermal Insulation
Covestro and Selena Group have partnered to develop a more sustainable polyurethane (PU) foam for building insulation. Selena’s upgraded Ultra Fast 70 foam now uses Covestro’s bio-attributed MDI, certified via the mass balance method, cutting its carbon footprint by 60%. The foam cures in just 90 minutes (vs. 24 hours) and delivers a higher yield of 70 litres per canister. It retains the same performance as fossil-based versions, making it easy to adopt. Selena also incorporates bio-based polyols and recycled PET in its foam range for enhanced sustainability.
