Covestro has launched Desmopan® FLY, a new high-performance thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) series tailored for supercritical fluid (SCF) foaming technology. Designed to meet growing demands for lightweight, high-performance, and sustainable footwear, Desmopan® FLY also offers potential across sports gear, furniture, and electronics. Its formulation enables uniform fine-cell foams with superior cushioning, energy return, and recyclability—ideal for circular economy footwear systems.

Covestro has also installed an advanced SCF foaming system at its Asia-Pacific R&D Center in Taiwan, enabling efficient R&D support and faster application development. This move strengthens its innovation pipeline and supports customers in accelerating their product development. Desmopan® FLY, now commercially available, empowers brands to deliver durable, eco-friendly products through an energy-efficient, automated injection molding process.
